Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

The attacks come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
